Alexa Goldberg
Director and Head Pro
Alexa Goldberg began her tennis career at Yonkers Tennis Center at the age of 4 with the late Coach Pat Rogers. In 2014, she won the New York State Doubles Championship for Edgemont High School. Alexa attended Skidmore College, where she played doubles all four years, ranking number 16 in the country. During her college career, she had four Liberty League Championships, four NCAA appearances and was captain her senior year, earning ITA Academic Honors all four years.
During her senior year at Skidmore, Alexa won the Community Service Award for Athletics due to her work and dedication on SAAC (Student-Athlete Academic Council) and her leadership on several campus-wide campaigns. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, with departmental honors, in Early Childhood Education and has a dual Master’s in Early Childhood and General Education from Sarah Lawrence College.
In 2019, Coach Alexa created the Coach Pat Project alongside YTC owner, Joe Curto. The Coach Pat Project is a non-profit community project that is sponsored by the USTA. The project provides over 500 underprivileged students with tennis during their physical education classes each week and teaches them a sport they can play forever.
Coach Alexa has been a teaching professional at Yonkers Tennis Center for 6 years. She has previously coached at Sportime, Lifetime, and Ardsley Swim and Tennis. She is USPTA and Net Generation certified. Coach Alexa has been coaching tennis for over 8 years, teaching all levels and ages ranging from 4-85 years old.
Coach Alexa also is currently the Head Varsity Tennis Coach for Edgemont Tennis for both the boys’ and girls’ tennis programs. She coached two boys to the State Doubles Championship in the spring of 2023 and two girls placed 5th place in the State Doubles tournament in the fall of 2023.
Vito Galatioto
Assistant Director and Senior Pro
Vito Galatioto grew up playing at Park Hill Racquet Club at the age of 7. Vito attended Salesian High school in New Rochelle, NY. During his tenure there, he helped create and organize the high school tennis team. He was the top player on his team from sophomore to senior year.
Coach Vito attended Concordia College in Eastchester, NY from 2004-2009. He played on the nationally ranked team and attended two final four NCAA tournaments. After finishing college, Coach Vito continued to teach tennis at Concordia for 10 years.
Coach Vito is USPTA and Net Generation certified and is the Assistant Director of Tennis and Programmer at Yonkers Tennis Center, where he teaches during the Fall and Winter seasons.
Coach Vito says that his favorite part about being a tennis professional is being able to help new players learn how to play tennis and he loves watching them develop their skills along with a passion for the sport.
